Burnaby Village Museum / Robson Square Skating

Look at the Burnaby Village Museum website - http://www.burnabyvillagemuseum.ca

and also look at information about skating at the Robson Square ice rink.

We would like to do two field trips this month: 1) Burnaby Village Museum and 2) Downtown to see the Christmas displays at the Hyatt Hotel (gingerbread lane), 4 Seasons Hotel (Festival of Trees), and go skating at the Robson Street ice rink.

Please look at the information and then vote in the survey. Which field trip(s) do you want to go on? The one with the most votes wins!

You are my sunshine

Here's my favourite version of the song that we sang in class today. This was my grandmother's favourite song; she would sing it to my dad when he was a little boy. Now I sing it to my boys when they are in bed or when they feel sick. Enjoy!

Victory is sweet for Vancouver Community College gingerbread team

This is a really neat display of gingerbread houses at the Hyatt Hotel downtown. It is free to walk through the hotel lobby and look at some amazing creations!

Black Friday in the United States

Black Friday in the United States

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October, and the Americans celebrate it on the fourth Thursday in November. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving earlier than Americans because the growing season is shorter in Canada, and the harvest comes earlier.
Black Friday is the Friday after American Thanksgiving. It's the biggest shopping day in the States. Click on the link to see what happens on that day.
